Muhammad Raj, director of the Hafezzi Charitable Society of Bangladesh (HCSB), has been honored with an international award for his remarkable humanitarian work, particularly in Egypt and Gaza. This recognition reflects his dedication to supporting Palestinian refugees and underprivileged communities affected by conflict.
During a distinguished event at Abbasiya Burj Al-Tatbikin Conference Hall, Ambassador Sabina Naz of the Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo presented the award to Muhammad Raj. The event was graced by prominent figures, including international lawyer Hasan Mahmud and other human rights activists.
As war erupted in October 2023, over 120,000 Palestinians sought refuge in Egypt. Muhammad Raj and his organization, HCSB, stepped up to offer essential support. Raj’s efforts included a generous donation of Tk 1 crore for healthcare, food, education, and other vital services for injured and displaced individuals in Gaza and Egypt.
His organization also contributed significantly to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Bangladesh, spending over Tk 25 lakh on food and medical support for injured activists.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Sabina Naz highlighted Raj’s commitment to humanitarian work and his willingness to support those in need during difficult times.
