The number of financially insecure patients who are unable to undergo treatment due to lack of money is not small. Many patients are dying without treatment. There are many patients who are lying in slums in Dhaka city, who cannot get even a little treatment. They have been living in slums or some slums for generations. “Jannater Khoje” is the project of Muhammad Raj, is the most talked about project of providing various long-term medical services including major operations to bereaved, destitute, destitute patients in the remote areas of the country.
The Project Jannater Khoje started by treating a half-dead old beggar. Alhamdulillah, with the help of some beloved servants of Allah, almost half a crore of medical assistance has been provided under this project in the last year. A pictorial report of some of his notable treatments is presented below.
Habib, born to an impoverished farmer in Jaintapur, Sylhet, had oral cancer at only six months old. Upon our encounter, he presented in a dire state, his facial features distorted by the disease. We promptly arranged for his admission to the National Cancer Institute, where he underwent a rigorous course of treatment, enduring 19 rounds of chemotherapy over eighteen months. Coming and going from Sylhet, staying and eating in Dhaka have all been managed under our project Jannater Khoje. Habib’s treatment cost about 5,00,000 (Five lakh taka) while the 20th chemo was going on, little Habib passed away on 21st January 2023 Isa. (Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun)
Pakhi Yasin, the son of a rickshaw driver from an infamous slum in Khilgaon, has undergone open-heart surgery at NICVD Hospital in Dhaka. We have been able to support him with 1.5 lakh taka, Alhamdulillah.
At just two and a half years old, this child’s father, a tea vendor, faced the daunting expense of two and a half lakh taka for his open-heart surgery. Thankfully, the operation was successfully conducted at Euro Bangla Hospital in Lalmatia, Alhamdulillah.
Abdur Rahman, the son of a struggling newspaper vendor in Laxmipur, suffers from a range of heart and vascular issues. With surgery not being a viable option, his condition deteriorated. Upon learning of his plight, we transported him to Dhaka and admitted him to Ibn Sina, Dhanmondi Shankar Branch. His operation was completed last November 8, 2022, at a cost of two and a half lakh taka under “Jannater Khoje” project, Alhamdulillah.
Habil Bhai, aged 32 and hailing from Jamalpur Phulkochar, Kanchpur, was employed at Sinha Garments with a monthly salary of 12,000 taka. Suddenly falling ill one day, he sought medical attention and was diagnosed with damage to both kidneys. Treatment commenced at Shyamoli CKD Hospital, but his financial situation worsened. Subsequently, we assumed full responsibility for his kidney transplant. Although his father’s kidney wasn’t a match, his wife generously donated one of hers. The total cost of the kidney transplant amounted to 500,000 taka.
Talha was born into a family of farmers. Due to financial constraints, he went without treatment for an extended period. Fortunately, his uncle, an imam at a mosque, contacted us for help. Subsequently, we coordinated and facilitated his comprehensive medical care. Hospital bill including operation at Dhanmondi, Shankar Ibn Sina comes to Tk 2,35,000 (two lakh thirty-five thousand) which we have arranged the entire bill from project in search of paradise. Now he is fully healthy, Alhamdulillah.
Fariha, an 8-year-old from a vulnerable family, suffered from pneumonia, a condition characterized by fluid buildup in the lungs. As a Madrasah student, her life was at risk due to her inability to undergo surgery. Upon learning of her situation, we arranged for her operation at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhanmondi, Shankar Branch. The total expense amounted to 250,000 Tk.
Abdul Malek, an elderly individual who lost his home thrice to river erosion, developed stones in his stomach. We transported him to the Liver Gastric Specialized Hospital in Dhanmondi, where he underwent surgery. The operation costs 70,000 ৳ (seventy thousand taka).
Sharif, a disadvantaged Talib Ilam, lost his leg to infection following an accident. To facilitate normal mobility, he required an artificial limb. With the support of Abu Raihan, a senior artist from the national cultural organization Kalarab, we provided Sharif with the prosthetic leg he needed. That cost us 1,00,000 ৳ (one lakh Taka).
Achia, the infant daughter of a struggling day laborer, faced health complications involving both a brain issue and a tumor in her waist. We admitted her to BRB Hospital Panthpath for treatment. Thanks to a successful surgery, Alhamdulillah, she has recovered and is in good health. His treatment incurred a cost of 1,70,000 ৳ (one lakh and seventy thousand taka).
Jannat, a young child from Senpara, Kanchpur, lost her mother and was raised by her grandparents. When doctors diagnosed her with a heart condition, her grandfather, who earned a living by collecting discarded vegetables, became deeply concerned. Our initiative was to admit her to Dhanmondi Ibn Sina Hospital for treatment, including surgery, which amounted to 250,000 ৳ (two lakh fifty thousand taka).
The medical diagnosis unexpectedly revealed that Shaun, the young son of a struggling day laborer, had blood cancer. Presently, Shaun is receiving treatment at Mohakhali Cancer Hospital, where his chemotherapy is progressing steadily.
Following the diagnosis of Husna Ara, a young girl attending Madrasa and the sister of a struggling van driver. With a brain issue, we arranged for her admission to Agargaon Neuroscience. Subsequently, we successfully performed the brain stroke operation for Mamni Husna Ara. Alhamdulillah.
Salman, the “bird of the Quran,” is battling blood cancer. To date, he has undergone 88 chemotherapy sessions, with an additional 24 sessions still required. We have covered the total cost of his treatment for the past 7/8 months. Our initiative, Jannater Khoje, by the grace of Allah, will cover all remaining expenses for chemotherapy.
So far, sponsors have granted 60 thousand rupees for therapy and other medical interventions to Sohail Moral from Bagerhat, who has been grappling with hemangiomas and brain schizophrenia since birth.
Abdullah Bhai, a 22-year-old from Rampura Badda, reached out to us in the final stage of cancer. We were purchasing medicine totaling 14 thousand taka each month. He passed away on the morning of August 22, 2022. May Allah grant him paradise, amen. The total expenses for his medication and tests amounted to 80,000 ৳ (eighty thousand taka).
Islamia Eye Hospital conducted eye surgery for two vulnerable orphan sisters from Rangpur at a cost of 47,000 taka.
The child of a Maulana sahib from Savar suffered an electric shock while playing on the roof. He underwent surgery at Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, costing 80,000 ৳ (eighty thousand taka).
The orphaned girl from Narayanganj is receiving costly treatment for a tumor in her head and cancer.
Shyamoli Babar Road Janseva Hospital performed surgery on a vulnerable child who lost half of their skull in a tragic accident. The procedure incurred a cost of 80,000 ৳ (eighty thousand taka).
The medical expenses for treating a child afflicted with pneumonia in a financially struggling family from Brahmanbaria amount to 38,000 taka.
We encountered a vulnerable brother lying on the pavement in Dhaka. Despite offering payment, no one was willing to transport him, as the stench of his wounds deterred even the drivers. Our volunteers provided him with cleaning and medical treatment at Dhaka Medical Collage Hospital.
